Graphic Design and Illustration Portfolio for Dominic Heisdorf

The idea behind this project was to create an engaging way for visitors to find out information about murals and the artists who painted them. Murals are part of our environment but we often only experience them in passing. They are defined as large scale site specific paintings so we wanted to create an interaction that celebrates the urban environment that they exist in.

The concept for this project was based on my Mural Magazine project, so the style was an extension of that brand. We built the city out of isometric components because that method allows the illustration of the map to contain dimensional looking elements with out having to worry about perspective. We used blue as a neutral monochromatic that lets the saturated color of the murals pop. We simplified the illustrations of the murals so that the focus was more on how the color interacts with the environment.
