Central Cinema is a quirky little theatre that serves food and plays cult classic movies. They host a variety of interactive events and have a cozy cocktail lounge. As a group of four, my classmates and I did research and broke down the vibe as nostalgic, offbeat and inclusive. The nostalgia reflects the idea of indulging in old movies while having a nice night of dinner and cocktails. Offbeat represents the humor represented on their social media and fun interactive events like “hecklevision.”

The branding uses the idea of the VHS and light projection as an analogy for old movies. The logo is a light spectrum of two C’s projecting each other in an unnatural way, hand drawn in a subtle texture. The colors also represent a glitch of light, but with the yellow more saturated in a warm golden tone. The illustrations and layouts use tattoo art and cultish arrangements to represent an offbeat nostalgic feel and the colors give the brand a playful vibe.
